How Do We Know Whether We Like Someone?

Disclaimer: This may not apply to everyone, but this is some of the patterns I have seen within my life and many others around me. Good luck guys!

1. Staring Contest

You can often find yourself staring at the person you're interested in a couple times too much. haha. If you catch yourself continuously looking back at the person, or whenever you have a chance, you may have found someone that you are interested in or like to look at. BUT. Sometimes we aren't really good at hiding our true feelings, so some may blatantly stare back at the person. It's okay! We all have probably done it unconsciously.

Tip: In order to make it less obvious that you're staring intently at your "crush", if they meet eyes with you, try looking past that person (which means try to look as if you were looking at something behind that person). OR if you are brave enough and want to meet eyes with them to spark something, don't look away! Haha.

2. Please Be More Active on Social Media

You know that you have gone "stalker" mode when you constantly check active sites of your "crush". You just wish they uploaded more pictures/posts up on social media for you to see and fan girl over.

Tip: Try snapchatting if your lover has a snapchat account. Snapchat is a source of social media where you can snap a picture and send it to someone for 1-10 seconds. Also, you can type out messages to send to someone, and of course it does not hold record of past messages. I find it an easier way to approach someone without fully committing to "texting".

3. Not Once, Not Twice
If you unconsciously talk or mention about the person you like without realizing that you are, that should be a red signal. Even if you mention something as small as "Oh, I heard he was going to the party", it can mean a sign of interest. This may be the beginning of a new "crush". Of course, if you constantly talk about this person 24/7, then most likely you have accepted the fact that you like this person and don't even care if you are obsessed. *We can get pretty obsessive too, it's okay* haha

Tip: There is no magic trick of preventing yourself from talking about someone you're interested in. If you don't want others to suspect you of liking this person, just play it cool!

4. Put That $20 Back in Your Pocket
If you're anything like me, then you would be willing to spend your money just to attend an event where your crush is going, but honestly. Stop. Haha, it's okay, I am guilty of it too! Most likely, you spend money hoping that you guys would talk and hang out, but why not just ask them on a date where you guys can actually talk! If you guys aren't that close yet, then starting off by attending the same event might not be such a bad idea. BUT remember, self-control.

Tip: Try to become closer friends with that person, and then casually ask them to hang out. Common locations for a friendly hangout could be at the movies or the mall. Maybe in the future, you guys can try a little bit more adventurous hangouts, such as amusement parks or restaurants.

5. Give Me Another 30 Minutes
Okay, this is targeted more towards the girls than guys *it can still apply to guys haha*. But...if you start noticing that you put more time and effort in your appearance in order to impress someone, WELL you may have found someone you're interested in. The main reason some of us do this is because we want to grab attention from those we like.

Tip: Guys, remember to be yourself! It's never bad to plan out your outfit the night before and pull out your eyeliner from time to time, but always remember if something was meant to happen, your "crush" will like you for how you look on a normal day basis!

Moving On From One Love To Another.

A couple weeks ago, I experienced my second breakup with someone I really thought was "the one." I don't think all breakups have to end in screaming and fighting for it to be considered a "bad breakup"... and most likely, I feel that it was only me who took it so...I guess...harshly? 

I never knew that I was someone so weak...ya know...those dramatic can't-eat and crying-randomly and heartache moments that you probably only see in Korean dramas (haha maybe I've just watched too many dramas and was dramatizing everything :P) when I think back to it now, it almost seems really stupid and silly, but I know that if I were to experience that breakup for a second time, I would only fall back into that depression I was in a couple weeks ago...

The first thought I had the moment it happened was "wow...he abandoned me." and I think that's a perfectly normally thing to feel at first. After a year and a half of being in a relationship with this person, you find yourself relying on this person for comfort and love and happiness. But when the breakup happens, everything just gets cut off all at once. It seems like your source of life has been suddenly cut off. I remember lying in bed alone crying knowing that while normally he would be there to console me and make me feel better, this time he would not be there to comfort me anymore. 

What I didn't know was my selfishness throughout my times of being in a relationship. I myself had abandoned my friends and family maybe times and yet I found myself relying on them in my times of depression. Shockingly though, they were all willingly there for me. After a couple days of relying on the company and encouragement of others, I was slowly able to start getting up from the ground and stand on my own :) 

It was definitely not an easy process and I fell back down many times :P I would constantly reminisce my times with him and just randomly feel disheartened when hearing or seeing certain things that reminded me of him. Little things such as a wave or friendly message from him gave me false hopes in "oh? maybe it's not completely over yet." And at times like this, my close friends whacked me in the head back into reality ^^'''' 

As of now, I can't really say that I am completely better because there are occasional times when I feel alone. But I know that the person that I dated a couple weeks ago is gone now. He's moved on, so now it's my turn, too. 

For anyone who's going through the aftermath of a breakup like me, I wish you all the strength and happiness I can think of! Stay strong! You are more than the girlfriend or boyfriend of that guy or girl. You are an individual who deserves to be loved and cared for by someone who truly cares. Don't let your relationship become your source of happiness and find happiness in yourself, your friends, your family, your life. There is so much more in life than a romantic relationship :) Try to think of your time alone as a time to prepare your heart for someone even better and awesomer than your ex     I can do it! You can do it! <3

Is He The One?

When problems and arguments happen in my relationship, I always end up asking myself "Is he the one?" It's not that I want to doubt him, but a relationship allows has that "what if." What if he doesn't see this relationship as serious as I am?  "How much time should I invest in this relationship, and is it worth it?" I'm not a love professional or anything like that :P but I have some expectations in how a guy will act when he truly cares for you. Sure all of these might not apply for every guy...I mean, they're all different and strange in their own male-ish ways >< but here is just a list of things I noticed through listening to some guy friends and my own relationship experiences: 

1. He'll get jealous...REAAALLY easily

you know, when he gets all grumpy and sulky when you're talking to your male friends. don't just take it as something that's annoying and appreciate that he's jealous of other guys :P (although crazy overboard jealously is a bigg no no)

2. He'll be talking about you to EVERYONE

I noticed that my boyfriend's friends and just people at school know things about me that I hadn't personally told them about -.- haha even though it's embarrassing most of the time, I feel really special thinking that he was thinking of me even when he was talking to other people ^_^ 

3. He'll want to impress you 

you guys know what guys do... :P whether it's a sport, an instrument, or  art...whatever it is, he's going to want to hear a compliment from you about it. 

4. He asks you for style advice

he'll want to know how you think he looks CX and how you want him to look like so he can look attractive in YOUR eyes! (I used a lot of "look"'s there)

5. He sacrifices things for you

games *cough cough* games games *cough* haha :P but yeah! he'll be giving up time that he could be doing things that he likes to be spending time with you to make you happy :D

6. He remembers things you tell him

This is something really important to me and is probably important to a lot of girls :3 we tell you things for a reason men! so you remember them!

7. He will never stop trying

relationships will die if one side stops trying. I believe that it doesn't matter how long you have been dating that person; everyday should be like the first day you met your significant other
